Next Steps

Page history last edited by Angela Siefer 12 years, 10 months ago

To continue our momentum, not only can we talk directly to each other (our new friends!), we can share ideas and resources in the following ways:

Peer to Peer

  • Community of Practice: Community Technology (CoP:CT) - for on the ground sharing of ideas and resources. Focused on operational day to day issues. The CoP:CT includes a listserv, a library and monthly webinars. As a short term solution, we can use the library to share materials (curriculum, program management & evaluation, outreach documents).

  • New America Foundation Open Technology Initiative BTOP Listerv and Monthly Calls - focused on BTOP program managers and researchers discussing strategic issues (including evaluation and sustainability). To sign up, contact James Losey - losey@newamerica.net.

Public Policy

  • Benton Foundation will convene a working group to create a realistic plan for impacting public policy with an end goal of creating a funding stream for community technology (including Universal Service Fund Reform). If you would like to participate in the working group, contact Cecilia Garcia - cgarcia@benton.org.
